Laying stone tiles on a diagonal for a countertop?
Hermionesoul asked:
I am getting ready to tile over my white formica countertop with 18″ trqavertine tiles (yes, I already know this is not my best choice of materials, but will work for us). The countertop is 25″ deep. If I lay the tiles on the standard straight line, I end up with a lot of waste and an uneven look. If I lay the tiles on the diagnol, then the tiles have a depth of 25″ and no waste.

I think this will add a “designer” touch to the countrtop. Mom says it will look weird. Husband has no opinion. What do you all think?
